The Area Banking, Finance, and Insurance is part of the Business School at the University of Mannheim. It has first-class facilities, internationally renowned faculty and conducts research in all areas of modern finance. 

The Faculty of the Area closely cooperates with three research groups located within 100 yards from each other at the heart of Mannheim University: the Financial Economics Group at the Department of Economics, the Finance Department of the Center for European Economic Research (ZEW) and the Mannheim Institute for the Economics of Aging (MEA).
